Asimple carpet of green grass makes everyone feels a bit freer. If that green carpet is then laid in the center of a medieval town, freedom has been transformed into an extraordinary event at that point. This is what happened last June 23 in the Piazzetta dell’Ortaggio (the greengrocers’ square), Pistoia’s geographic center and the heart of night life for many young people located just a few steps from the cathedral. The many nightclubs surrounding the square adapted to their customers stretching out and making themselves comfortable on the grassy carpet that covered the stone pavement.
